Hi I'm Amrita!
I'm a singer, songwriter, author, artist, and businesswoman. I am dedicated to illuminating the often-overlooked stories of women in mythologies. When I say mythologies, I mean both historical stories about religion and politics as well as completely made-up tales that have been passed down throughout the generations (think fairytales!).
Through my writing, I love to delve into "what might have happened" if a woman were actually running the show. What if the tale was really about her and not him? I hope you enjoy these retellings for what they are. They are meant to be experiments and conversation pieces. Enjoy.
Fairytale Re-Imagined
Cosmic and Eternal Love is the coloring book Amrita published to accompany the same story in ‘Hidden Women’. The book contains a musical CD that follows the narrative of the story of Radha and Krishna.
Cosmic and Eternal Love takes the reader on the journey of Radha, who is unfamiliar with the concept of love. We come across the boy Krishna and then later the man. At each stage, ‘Cosmic and Eternal Love’ depicts the beauty of that area with gorgeous illustrations by Amrita.
